THE FIRST OFFICIAL COUNTY SUPPORTED FREMONT COUNTY FAIR WAS HELD IN 1902. THERE WERE ELEVEN YEARS BETWEEN 1902 AND 2013 IN WHICH NO COUNTY FAIR WAS HELD, MAINLY DUE TO WAR AND DEPRESSION.

2018 will mark the 105th anniversary of the Fremont County Fair and the 36th edition of Fremont County Fair PRCA Rodeo, now known as the Wind River Rodeo Roundup.
Located in Central Wyoming, with the Wind River Mountains and the Wind River as natural resources and attractions. We are one of the premier county fairs in Wyoming. The Fair attracts 475 youth participants, over 600 open class exhibitors, and showcasing 6,417 exhibits.

Operates on 49 acres with facilities used year round and hosts over 815 events annually.

Joe’s Bacon-Wrapped Yummy Dogs

(Yields 4 servings)

 INGREDIENTS:

3 Roma tomatoes, diced

2 avocados, peeled, halved, seeded & diced

¼ cup diced red onion

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves

Juice of 2 limes

Pinch of salt

¼ cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon milk

4 quality hot dogs

4 slices of bacon

1 (15-ounce) can of ranch style beans, drained and warmed

4 best quality hot dog buns (think Kings Hawaiian)

 DIRECTIONS:

Preheat grill to medium high heat.

In a medium bowl, combine tomatoes, avocados, onion, cilantro, lime juice & salt.

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise & milk. If mixture is too thick, add more milk as needed.

Wrap each hot dog in a strip of bacon – secure with toothpick – and set aside.

Grill hot dogs until the bacon is brown and crispy, about 8 – 10 minutes.

To assemble the Yummy Dogs, scoop beans evenly into the three hot dog buns. Add the hot dog and top with the avocado Pico de Gallo and drizzle the mayonnaise mixture on each hot dog.

Serve immediately and enjoy!
